Health Related Absence Nurse
The Flying Bull Academy is updating the way we manage school attendance. In partnership with the NHS a team of Health Related Absence (HRA) Nurses will be available to support families regarding health issues which may be preventing your child going to school.
The aim is for the HRA Nurse (Abby Davies) to work closely with our school to ensure the child/young person’s health needs do not have a negative impact on their education and to ensure there are no gaps in health care provision.
A School Health Nurse will be available on a weekly basis (Wednesday Mornings) here at The Flying Bull Academy to give information and advice on health issues which may be preventing your child from attending school.
If more in depth health concerns are identified, you and your child will be offered the opportunity to discuss these health needs further during a targeted contact. Working together an ongoing plan will be developed to help improve your child’s health and wellbeing. Ongoing support will be available and progress assessed to determine if further support is needed.
There is a proven link between attendance and achievement and we look forward to working in partnership with families and the academy in order to help your child achieve their full potential.
