School Council Beach Clean

On Thursday 15th June, all the School Councillors went to Southsea Beach to pick up litter as part of the Surfers Against Sewage campaign.

First of all, we ate lunch under a tree in the Canoe Lake, so we were protected from the sun (that’s why we had to bring a hat and sun cream). Next we had to get into groups of three, two people picking up the litter to put in the bag which the third person was holding. We walked around the lake to the actual beach picking up litter as we went. On the beach some people who were there gave us their litter too.

We went from the beach into the alluring Rose Gardens, where we took some photos, which you will see looked amazing!

Last but not least, Mrs Churchill gave us till she counted to ten to pick up as much as we could from one side of the pathway, and then we had to do it again on the other side.

When we got back to school, we emptied out what we had collected  and put it in our bin.

Thank you to Mrs Metcalfe for organising and Mrs Churchill for driving
