In nursery last week, our learning was all about Halloween. We shared monster stories, sang songs and took part in a range of activities. These included making ‘Monster Munch’ in the mud kitchen, creating our own monsters using junk modelling and playdough, as well as pretending to be monsters in our outside area. We also explored pumpkins in our investigation area, chalked on a large pumpkin and linked our math’s learning with counting pumpkins and shapes. On Friday, we explored real pumpkins with our senses by making ‘Silly Soup’ in the tuff tray, meaning we got to do lots of mixing and mashing while using a wide range of vocabulary linking to what we could see, smell and feel.
