Yr 6 Engineers

A visit to the BAE Roadshow

Today, Miss Carter and Mrs Parker took 15 children from Year 6 to participate in the BAE Roadshow at Brune Park Community School.

The event was linked to how technology communicates with each other and how different waves can be used. The children were able to see hover boards, spheros and night goggles with many child getting to be a volunteer in the show.

The children were impeccably behaved with the Assistant Head of the school commenting on the children’s fantastic manners. At the end of the session, the children were able to ask questions of a BAE Engineer with Blake asking a winning question ‘Why does the sound of a jet take longer to be heard?’ This question won him a limited edition, Lego model of the HMS Elizabeth, which was made even more special by the fact he had been able to visit the vessel only a few weeks previously. A fantastic day out was had by all.
