Year 6 visit Ben Ainslie Racing HQ

From Americas Cup to Plastic Pollution

A huge thank you to @INEOSTEAMUK and @AinslieBen for a hugely informative, engaging and eye-opening tour of Ben Ainslie Racing HQ.

A fabulous morning was had by all of the children in Year 6, with them experiencing the innovative Tech Deck. The children found out about how the organisation began and the history of the America cup before the session developed into activities based on our Ocean's Health.

This is a subject that has really captured the children's emotions and they have been extremely keen to learn and write passionately about the subject. The children were brilliant asking and answering lots of questions, sharing their understanding of plastic pollution and the effect it is having on our planet.

Kim Clark, the Programme Assistant for education at 1851 Trust said: "I was super-impressed with the knowledge that all of your young people had about Ocean Health before coming in to see us yesterday and their ability to contribute to an informed discussion; it was great to hear their ideas and thoughts."

Our Year 5 children are looking forward to their visit in two weeks.
