Summer Reading Challenge Tea Party

High Tea Celebrations

As an incentive to complete the Summer Reading Challenge run by the local libraries over the summer holidays, Mrs Churchill offered a high tea for all those children who completed the challenge. 51 pupils started it and 36 completed it which was a big improvement on last year, as 37 started and 23 finished!

The children tucked in to sandwiches, scones, cake and biscuits, washed down with 'lashings of ginger beer' (actually it was orange or blackcurrant squash but it sounded better in the style of Enid Blyton!) When all the plates were cleared, they made bookmarks afterwards to round off the afternoon. They all went home stuffed.

A huge thank you to Mrs Churchill for organising the event and a huge well done to all children who managed to complete the reading challenge.
