An Important Week for Our Year 6
Please support our children to realise their fantastic potential
As many of you will be aware, our Year 6 children will be taking their National Curriculum Tests next week.
Children and staff have been working extremely hard so that the children can be as successful as possible. We appreciate all of the support from families and friends and would ask for everyone to be sensitive at a potentially stressful time of year.
We are extremely proud of the children and want to ensure they are in the best possible position to realise the potential they have shown throughout their time at Flying Bull.
Miss Carter's advice is:
•Help children not to feel worried or pressured about SATS. All that is asked is that they try their best, but please reassure children that the SATS should not be causing anxiety. Do give lots of praise and encouragement!
•Help children with organising their homework (including spellings and mental arithmetic) and support their reading for pleasure activities.
•Help them to have early nights so they are fully rested.
•Help your child to have the best possible attendance at school. We will be running a breakfast club starting at 8am, for free, to encourage children to be in school on time for the tests. Mr Needham will be phoning for any children who are not in school.
•Please speak to a member of staff if you have questions or concerns.
