Last Thursday, Year 1 went on an exciting trip to visit the HMS Victory and HMS Warrior at the Historic Naval Dockyard in Portsmouth. The children had the opportunity to explore what life was really like on board these huge battle ships, the conditions the sailors and officers lived under and how the ships functioned.

The children got to grips with how the boat was sailed, what it would have been like to work a cannon and the daily routines of the sailors with varying job roles.

Everyone also got to enjoy a relaxing guided boat tour around the naval harbour looking at the difference between the historic ships and their modern day counterparts. It was an enjoyable day for all. Have a look at the photos...
