Year 5/6 Circulatory Day

Year 5/6 Circulatory Day

Earlier this month, Years 5 and 6 spent a day investigating how the circulatory system works. As part of their learning about the human body, they acted out the process of blood travelling around the body so they could understand the journey the blood goes on inside them; made their own blood to understand the different elements and their roles within the blood and dissected hearts to see if they could work out the different chambers, heartstrings and valves inside.

This was a fantastic day with the children showing exemplary behaviour and understanding. We had a record-breaking turn out of parents with 22 family members coming to join in - hopefully, they learnt something as well.

We have really enjoyed having our family days and will be organising dates for next term as soon as possible.
