This year, we were very lucky to be one of the schools chosen to host the announcement of the Portsmouth Book Award Picture Book winner. Pupils from our school and Ark Dickens saw 'Simon Sock' by Sue Hendra and Paul Linnet crowned the winner. Unfortunately one of the authors, Sue Hendra, couldn't be with us but her co-writer and illustrator Nick East came along to receive the award. After the presentation, Paul read the story to the children whilst Nick did some more drawings which will go up in the Library.

Year one obviously know a good book when they read one, as this was their favourite when they voted in May!
