Safer Internet Week 2019

Safer Internet Week 2019

On Tuesday 5th February 2019, schools across the country celebrated Safer Internet Day.  Because of our commitment to e-safety, our academy instead decided to make Safer Internet Day into an entire week.  Our Digital Leader team had been hard at work for the last few weeks planning and preparing lessons, which they delivered throughout last week to every class in the academy.

This year we looked at the concept of permission and consent.  With the introduction of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) in May of last year, control of personal data and data privacy is more important than ever.  Because of this, our team decided they wanted to educate pupils about the importance of keeping personal data secure and safe.  We also looked at the need to ensure pupils respect the rights and feelings of their friends and family.

Well done, team!
