This term has seen the launch of our 'Green Team' - a team of pupils who are passionate about doing whatever they can to look after our environment and make our world a better place. Working alongside Mrs Darbyshire and a team of students from the University of Chichester, they have started their work by setting us a challenge.

In a recent assembly, they spoke to all staff and pupils, challenging us on our use of recycling bins across the school.

The Green Team are asking pupils to design posters reminding people of how our grey and blue classroom bins should be used. The winning posters will be displayed on every single bin throughout the school, and (eco-friendly) prizes will be awarded!

Here's Mrs D with a quick reminder of what goes into each bin:

"Blue bins are for tins, plastic bottles, card and paper - please make sure that any tins or bottles are rinsed before going into the recycling bin!

Grey bins are for ANY OTHER WASTE, e.g. food waste, used tissues, used pens and gluesticks etc."

Our Green Team will be doing spot-checks on classroom bins - so make sure your classmates and adults are putting their rubbish into the correct bins! They will also be announcing winners to the poster competition in January - so please get your posters to Mrs Darbyshire or any member of the Green Team as soon as possible.
