EYE CLINIC

At the new University of Portsmouth Eye Clinic you can get free eye checks for your child. They are currently offering 24 slots over three dates 20th Nov, 27th Nov and 13th Dec for under 7s (they may be able to offer appointments for over 7s during this time but are particularly looking to offer appointments to under 7 years old).

As our NHS contract hasn't begun yet prescriptions for free glasses aren't transferable to other establishments however we will honour free glasses for all children.

 

CHILDREN AND BINOCULAR VISION

The younger you catch problems with your eyes, the better. And it’s vital to be on the lookout for the rarer eye conditions, such as binocular vision impairment (which covers problems with depth perception and issues of the eyes not working well together). Our special tests can reveal previously undetected conditions and get you on the road to better vision. We can also help with vision related learning difficulties, for example by supplying coloured filters.

 

YOUR APPOINTMENT

Optometry students deliver your eye examinations and supporting care, supervised by fully qualified, experienced professionals. This experience helps the students to qualify. To make sure you get a comprehensive service, appointments can take up to two hours.
