We are now well into the Autumn term and attendance is looking good!

Children have picked up their rewards from the Attendance Shop

Attendance for the whole academy is currently at 97.1%. This is a good increase on last year’s 97.0% for the same period. Our academy attendance target this year is a minimum of 96.6%.

We have had an extremely good start to 2017, last week we had 9 classes with an attendance above our target. We had 2 classes with the joint highest attendance and winners of the attendance cup, they were 1W and FC with an outstanding 100%. In 3rd place was FB with 99.0%, well done.

Persistent absence (P.A.) has also fallen! Last year at this point in November our P.A. rate was 9.43%. With the continued effort from everybody at the Flying Bull Academy we have now lowered P.A. to 6.82%, this is a massive improvement.

This continued growth in attendance has only been achieved because of the hard work, effort and support from all of our pupils, parents and carers. Thank you.

Reminder – The government consider every child below 90.0% attendance (red category) to be persistently absent. The Parents/Carers of these children may find themselves being issued with PNW (penalty notice warning) and may face legal proceedings from the Local Authority.

Lates – The government can issue fines for lateness! If your child is regularly late the government may issue you with a PNW.

ANY FINES THAT GO OUT TO PARENTS ARE ISSUED BY THE LOCAL AUTHORITY AND ARE PAID TO THE LOCAL AUTHORITY. THE FLYING BULL ACADEMY RECEIVE NO MONEY FROM ANY FINES THAT ARE REQUESTED.

Attendance for the whole academy is currently at 96.7%. This is a massive increase on last year’s 95.2% for the same period. Our academy attendance target this year is a minimum of 96.2%.

Our fantastic start to 2017 continues!

In the week before half term, attendance for the whole academy was 96.9%. We also had 9 classes with an attendance above our minimum academy target. We had 1 class with the highest attendance this week. Therefore, the winners of the attendance cup were 1R with 99.3%. Sharing 2nd spot this week were 6G, 3N and 4T with 98.8%, well done!

This continued growth in attendance has only been achieved because of the hard work, effort and support from all of our pupils, parents and carers. Thank you.

Attendance Station

Remember, your children must be in school on time to get their attendance points! When children are at school every day and they are on time, they earn attendance points. These points are then used to purchase the rewards your child(ren) likes from the Attendance Station.

Reminder – The government consider every child below 90.0% attendance (red category) to be persistently absent. The Parents/Carers of these children may find themselves being issued with PNW (penalty notice warning) and may face legal proceedings from the Local Authority.

10th May 2016

As we are now well into the last term of the academic year, let us review our current attendance. Attendance (year to date) has risen 0.8% from 95.1% in 2014/15 to 95.9%, this is so close to our target of 96%. We have also seen a rise of 0.3% in attendance for the current term.

We had another great week at the Flying Bull Academy with 97.5% attendance. 12 out of 15 classes achieved an attendance rate above our minimum academy target. This is great news and shows a real continued effort. Last week was also amazing because 4 classes hit 100%. They were FB, FCL 2H and 6G.

We continue to thank you all for your support. As we move towards half term, let us continue to make this a year to remember. Let’s smash our minimum target of 96.0%. We can do it.

Reminder – The government consider every child below 90.0% attendance (red category) to be persistently absent. The Parents/Carers of these children may find themselves being issued with PNW (penalty notice warning) and may face legal proceedings from the Local Authority.

21st March 2016

As we near the end of spring term at the Flying Bull Academy, we look back at what we have achieved. Attendance for the academic year is currently at 95.6%, a 0.3% rise on the same point last year.   Attendance for the spring term has also risen from 94.7% in 2015 to 95.5% in 2016, well done.

We have just had another great week for attendance at the Flying Bull Academy. 11 out of 15 classes achieved an attendance rate above our minimum academy target of 96.0%. This is excellent news and shows great effort from everyone.  With so many great class attendances the attendance cup could have gone to anybody. However, the class with the highest attendance last week was 5A with an outstanding 100%. The class in 2nd place was FB with 99.3% and in 3rd place were 4B with 98.8%, well done.

We continue to thank all parents/carers and pupils with an attendance rate between 96.0% and 100.0%, thank you. As we move towards the summer term, let us make this a year to remember. Let’s smash our minimum target of 96.0%, we can do it.

Attendance Shop:

In September, we launched The Flying Bull Academy Attendance Shop. Our aim was to create an attendance reward system that could be accessed by all pupils and that is fair for all. We now operate an attendance reward catalogue/shop.  All pupils receive a ½ point for every registration that they attend on time. These points are either spent or saved. Each pupil chooses what they want to do with their own points and the shop is open to all pupils on a fortnightly basis.  We have had children spending or saving every week, working out exactly what they want and how long it will take to save up for it. Children can choose from Bubbles and Puzzles to Play-Doh and Stationary sets. Every child who has 100% attendance for the previous term will be awarded an additional 10 points. Pupils with 100% attendance for the entire academic year will also receive a Flying Bull Academy 100% Hoodie.
