...that is the number of words that our children have read this half term in Years 3, 4, 5 and 6. It has been astonishing seeing how children have been so keen to read at home and in class this half term.

Year 4 read 261 430 words this last week alone!

And what a difference it is making! Children are not only reading lots of books, but they are paying close attention to what they are reading as they are taking the quizzes afterwards and passing lots of them.

Thank you to all of the parents and carers for their support with reading - it is invaluable.

Alexandra in 4B has read more words than any other children in the academy! She has read 146 926 words since the beginning of September. What a fabulous achievement. Well done Alexandra.
